Recognized as the top graduate in every semester and across all departments at Seoul National University of Science and Technology, the early academic journey culminated in a master’s thesis focused on DVD movie title and menu design. Following contributions to the education sector during the IMF and Millennium transition period, a design agency was founded in 2004, marking the beginning of a comprehensive practice that spans diverse creative disciplines.

Over the years, the work has expanded to developing proprietary brands and products, securing a patent in 3D augmented reality, and delivering a broad range of design solutions. Extensive experience in university-level instruction—particularly specialized 2D and 3D design curricula—has complemented this practice. Since 2020, the focus has evolved toward AI-driven graphics, video production, and advanced digital solutions.

From the very beginning, Fresh Jelly SPOPACK has grown true to its vision. After three years of preparation, it made its debut in November 2008 — becoming the only brand of its kind in Korea, setting the standard for outdoor packs.
Today, it holds the No.1 sales record in its category across online marketplaces, exporting to Southeast Asia and North America. Despite imitations and counterfeits in Korea and China, the original SPOPACK remains the benchmark of authenticity.

In 2014, during the special exhibition commemorating Pope Francis’s visit to Korea, a professional collaboration began with President Geun-sang Yoo, whose artistic practice and creative philosophy have been widely recognized. The project involved the digital archiving of his portfolio, the documentation of his working processes, and the development of strategies for curated exhibitions and promotional outreach within Korea.

This collaboration offered a meaningful convergence between fine art and design, revealing a strong creative affinity with Yoo’s background in pure painting. It also became an important opportunity to deepen an understanding of his artistic identity and contribute to the broader presentation of his work.

A visit to the Gentle Monster space in Seongsu echoes back to the brand’s first shop in Hongdae in 2011. Beginning with eyewear, the brand has continually pursued shifts in value and consumer trends, expanding through experimental marketing and unexpected collaborations. What once stood as straightforward eyewear design has since evolved into a concept-driven identity where the product itself becomes almost secondary. Ultimately, it remains a manufactured object with no expiration date—yet the brand has elevated it far beyond its functional origin, turning the ordinary into an experience.

Museum design is a complex process that mobilizes every visual and spatial element to create an integrated display environment. Developing the 3.5D multi-curved display for the Korea Atomic Energy Museum was an intense challenge from day one. While managing the dispersed display of more than 6,000 pieces for the Yeocho Calligraphy Museum, I gained a deep understanding of the greater Gangwon region. The Bank of Korea Money Museum project, featuring currencies from around the world, became an inspiring opportunity to experience a global journey through design.

What began as facial skin hydration masks evolved into a more advanced product line, growing beyond beauty care alone. We continued to invest deeply—integrating cutting-edge technologies and mechanisms, even expanding into areas that bordered on medical applications. Yet, despite the success of the mission itself, the business outcome was devastating. Still, this experience ultimately paved the way for someone else, opening a new and exciting opportunity.

It is undeniable that this represents a genuine contribution to society. And remember that business partners may not always be aligned with your own intentions.

이젠 추억속으로~ ㅠㅠ

Had USB and other flash storage devices not taken over, DVDs might have remained an incredibly appealing medium. Perhaps they were simply an unlucky child born in the wrong era. There was a time when producing master movie titles brought real excitement, and DVD authoring itself was considered cutting-edge technology. Among the tens of thousands of functions that authoring could achieve, we barely experienced even 5% of its possibilities. Those days… I miss them, and I feel a bittersweet longing for what could have been.
For someone who earned a master’s degree researching DVD menu structures, the sense of loss is all the more personal.
